The building fund summary as of September 28, 2005, showed a total value of cash on hand and land of $1,432,594.55. Remaining pledges to be collected total $1,164,919.15.

kk will check to see if the Diocese Building Committee is meeting now that the bishop has issued a building moratorium on new projects.

kk reported that the diocese is conducting a major study. Parishioners will be asked to fill out surveys on November 5-6, 2005. Results will be issued in the fall of 2006.

Joe Stadelman (architect) and Kevin Hammer (Findorff) have met twice with planning committee members to look at possible modifications/cuts on the proposed project. The budget for building the church, chapel, and office area as of February 6, 2005 was $4,381,864. An inflation factor of $219,343.20 was added to bring this estimate up to date. This totals $4,606,207.20. Deletion of the chapel, A-V equipment, pews/seating, ecclesiastical furnishings, and tables/chairs plus reduced finished parking, compressed office space, elimination of second story mechanical room, elimination of religious ed office, alterations in roof design and window treatment brings cost down to an estimate of $3,991,964.

The planning committee requests that the chapel be kept in the planning process/blueprints even though it could possibly be deleted or delayed in the future.

The planning committee asked AYA and Findorff to look at other possible changes to bring the cost in under $4,000,000, but keep the chapel, provide A-V and ecclesiastical furnishings.

Those changes will be presented at the next planning committee meeting on Monday, October 24, 2005, at 7:00 p.m.
