The St. James parish council will forward a list of thoughts and ideas to the planning committee. It will summarize their discussions about building a new church and its impact on them.
The Fundraising subcommittee reported:
· A membership update will occur at Mass during the last two weekends of September
· Information has been gathered about professional fundraising; there is some support on the planning committee because of the potential magnitude of our fundraising drive and to insure the need for confidentiality in fundraising

The Communications subcommittee reported:
· Website is up and working; receiving positive feedback
· Discussed possibility of doing a promotion and providing information at the Parish Dinner; concluded that the day is too hectic to try to do anything formal
The Ad Hoc Architect subcommittee reported:
· Architect interviews will occur on September 26th; three firms will make presentations
· The subcommittee is recommending that John Buscemi be hired as a liturgical consultant to help guide us through this process
Discussion was held pertaining to the voting procedure;
· Estimated timeline for the parish vote is Spring, 2003
· Should consider doing vote by ballots in pews at Mass with a show of hands for members, versus mailing of ballots
· Concept of requiring a 2/3 majority for approval was discussed; this would indicate the required strong mandate from the parish for successful fund raising and building
